3:33⅓ Grant Green “Am I Blue”

So guess what, I love organ jazz today too. I was close to play a great record from the Meters called “Find Yourself”. If you’ve ever enjoyed Naughty By Nature’s “Feel Me Flow” than you’ve heard the tune. I decided to go to a slightly more down the middle selection for a jazz station. I know my tastes can bring in more funky music and I know that the promise of a jazz station involves funk only in doses. Sometimes I feel people are surprisingly uncomfortable with the artists who bridge genres and with the songs that are so spectacular that they deserve a spin on any station that cares about providing world class music. On the other hand, I also know the disappointment of when you have an expectation from what you’re thinking you’ll get from a radio station and you’re not hearing that reflected in your speakers. I get it all, but suffice it to say, this afternoon I decided to go with something unimpeachably jazzy. Working for me, working for you, working for the art.
