3:33⅓ - MMYYKK - Cold Hustle

Right when I got the job at Jazz88 I knew it would be important to stay connected with MMYYKK’s musical journey. The Current has been supportive of him and I think his music is a fit at Jazz88. Plus, MMYYKK and his crew of musicians are ascending in national prominence and that’s always good to keep track of back in Minnesota. I’ve been meaning to grab this vinyl direct from MMYYKK since March of ‘22 but it’s been a busy ass year. On my last visit to the Fetus I not only found this record but I found it on GOLD VINYL. WIN WIN WIN WIN. And the music is wonderful. How does someone bring so much warmth and variety in a largely programmed setting? The answer is that the man has soul and he knows his machines and a lot of his machines have soul, old synths, analog stuff. It’s gorgeous, it’s a treat and I’m glad to be spinning some of it today on the radio. Happy Wednesday.
