Jazz musicians of the Twin Cities, let’s turn this one into a jazz song. It’s a beautiful lyrics, beautiful changes, beautiful melody. I still remember hearing Future Islands for the first time when I was getting ready to play a show over at Barbette in S. Minneapolis. This song came on and I had to immediately find the manager and ask her who it was. This was before Future Islands was a hipster household name. She answered my question with a speed an intensity that helped me understand that she believed in the band and most importantly. . .BELIEVED IN THE SONG. This song has a magic to it that the rest of Future Islands’ catalog doesn’t quite have, but I stan for this song.
