3:33⅓ Wayne Shorter - Speak No Evil

Playing some vinyl on Jazz88 as per usual. Went with the title track to Wayne Shorter’s “Speak No Evil” album for today. I just received the new Lakecia Benjamin record in the mail and she’s got Wayne’s voice on there so I’ve had him on the brain all day. What beautiful writing and what supportive playing. In a different way than any group of players in the jazz world, I find something collaborative and song-centric about the players from Miles Second Great Quintet.

Okay, well, I better get this posted and start promoting the Big TRouble show on Saturday.
